2007 Symbolism - Part One: Space

There have been some major developments on the space scene this year, things which have been causing quite a shift in perspective for many. It’s fascinating because it represents the changes of our time, and ultimately humanity’s spiritual evolution.

Radio astronomers have found the biggest hole ever seen in the universe. The void, which is nearly a billion light years across, is empty of both normal matter and dark matter. The finding challenges theories of large-scale structure formation in the universe.

Big Void – New Scientist

This is interesting because it potentially challenges the whole Big Bang theory (which is still a theory despite being taught as fact in schools). These theories become institutionalized and often unchallengeable, but the Big Bang theory was introduced in the 60’s and the scientists of that day are beginning to pass to a new generation. As is always the case when this happens – new theories get introduced:

One hotly disputed theory is that there is no beginning, and no end because space and time have always existed in an endless cycle of expansion and rebirth. They point out that the expansion of the universe is accelerating, as astronomers have recently observed and that after trillions of years, expansion eventually stalls, new matter and radiation is created, and then the cycle begins yet again.

M-Theory – Daily Galaxy

Back in August – the star Mira after 400 years of observation was discovered to have a comet-like tail. It has essentially been venting material for the past 30,000 years. Up until this point suns weren’t thought to act in such a manner.

Galaxy Evolution Explorer–”GALEX” for short–scanned the popular star during its ongoing survey of the entire sky in ultraviolet light. Astronomers then noticed what looked like a comet with a gargantuan tail. In fact, material blowing off Mira is forming a wake 13 light-years long, or about 20,000 times the average distance of Pluto from the sun. Nothing like this has ever been seen before around a star.

More recently Comet Holmes has continued to expand and is now more than twice the diameter of the Sun. Which yet again is confusing the scientists.

Symbolism

In the movie ‘Black Orpheus’ (based on the Greek mythology) Mira killed Orpheus (often viewed as one of the founders of civilization). Comet Holmes is moving through Perseus, the slayer of archaic monsters. The old is undoubtedly on its way out – and it knows it. That is why the fear is setting into the systems of power. We will witness it make last ditch efforts to retain its control, as it grasps frantically in a death grip by any means necessary.

But it can’t succeed because its continued survival requires infinite consumable resources, as well as the freewill of those it would suppress. It’s the true manifestation of the global ego flying into a childlike tantrum.

In truth it’s not the power-structures that are ending, but rather the aspects upon which they are built. Firstly it is the self-centered masculine energy. Secondly; linear materialistic thinking is falling into its rightful place in the past, to be replaced with something far more flexible and dynamic. But this can’t happen over night – it takes time, and that is why we are starting to see so much disruption and change on every level of our society and environment.

Space is just where the most obvious signs look down at us. Here on Earth there have been many other events during the course of this year - all indicating towards the same coming changes.
