As Above so Below - A model of the Future

‘As above so below’, a phrase that’s a bit of a cliché, but nevertheless one that can be applied to all areas of life. It’s not really that difficult to be aware of what is going on in the minds of those that lead our world, because what we experience on a day to day basis is a direct reflection of those minds.
For a bit of fun we can start of with applying this reasoning to software.
Take the software from Microsoft for example. With each incarnation its interface becomes more obscure, and although it is still customisable - in that you can adjust certain options - they are no longer so easy to find. In a way you are stuck with what you’ve got. Windows Live Messeger is another example, formally the MSN instant messenger, it is now chock full of adverts and superficial diversionary fluff.
Adobe the creators of Photoshop, are slowly moving their products into an online form - so they will only function through a web-browser. They recently brought BuzzWord - an online word processor which is an excellent example of where Adobe seem to want to head. Complete centralisation of their products.
Between these two large companies we see a trend of one dictating how things should be used, and other dictating where they should be used.
Google is interesting, because most of their software is ‘free’. But on the other hand it also collects and reports back a whole load of information.
These companies tend to have a lot of the computer world wrapped up. It’s interesting to see this as a reflection of how such corporations operate in the physical world. Take Monsanto and their almost total monopoly over GM food…and as GM food is now replacing conventional food - who will ultimately own the food? Meanwhile the Water Restoration Act of 2007 has the US Government laying the foundations for classifying water as a commodity. Therefore making a basic human right into a market tied resource. This is sidetracking somewhat from my original intent of this post - but it is something which is pretty important:
The Water Restoration Act of 2007, brought to you by Jim Oberstar of Minnesota, along with others, gives the federal government complete control over every waterway, river, stream, lake, aquifer, creek, slew, swamp, underground spring and even the rain that runs off your roof. Why? Well to better protect you from polluters and to ensure water safety, and of course “national security”.
Here’s the real deal. Oil which has been deemed the worlds most valuable commodity (remember that word) is quickly being replaced by water. Water is the new “gold”. Under the Public Trust doctrine, the government is prohibited from converting something such as water (a human right…we can’t live without it) to a commodity. It must remain in a public trust, meaning that it is so important to our survival that it should never be subjected to markets, trading or private interests. In other words, it should never be reclassified as a commodity. But this Act lays the groundwork for removing from the Public Trust this basic human right which is a necessity, and will facilitate it being reclassified a “needed commodity”. Enter the multi-national corporations.
What is under way is the effort to classify water as a commodity and not a right. All of this actually started with NAFTA and then CAFTA. Both agreements, which are not enforceable as they are both unconstitutional have been parts of a puzzle that until recently seemed not to make any sense at all. Both are focused on giving multinational corporations the right to lay claim to food production whether it is agriculture or animal ranching, to force out family farms, to patent their new “frankenseeds” and put the resulting GMO food on our grocery shelves without labeling the foods as altered.
As above, so below. What does this say about the minds of the US leaders? Only interested in the public good? Then why do the corporations need to be involved? Consider for a moment how the continuous pursuit for centralisation has helped cause this situation.
Then there are the growing food riots around the world. Here’s a map of their locations:
Found here: Food Riots
There are great concerns about future food supplies, largely due to the cost of wheat and corn. Yet still there are large groups lobbying to grow fields of such ‘food’ so that we can feed our cars with the bio-fuel. It shows where the priorities lay doesn’t it?
Although it is still not getting much exposure, the project by Steorn and the developed perpetual motion free energy technology is still being tested by the scientific community. It will be very interesting indeed to see how this plays out. I suspect there are some big eyes watching this very closely.
When I see these things playing out the question comes to me; ‘What the hell is going on?!’. It seems that corporations and governments are needing to increasingly tighten their grip on the world. Why is that?
…as above so below…
Things appear to be spinning out of control. And that has a lot of people scared - they have a lot invested with the current setup - and change really won’t suit them. But change is on it’s way…
