Changing Words, Changing Reality

The media have become great at ‘changing reality’. The trick is very simple; all you need to do, is get people to change the object or idea they associate with a particular word. And doing that is simplicity itself - just keep repeating the word and its new meaning - sooner or later everyone will be copying. But not only that, they will believe what they are saying.
I have barely a passing interest what calls itself ‘news’ nowadays, one story that did gain my attention though - due to its inanity, is the story of the pregnant man. Now the fact that he was once a she, is perfectly fine, it is after all his body and his life - so only he knows how he felt when he was a she. That’s all a fair game.
The story itself though shows a cultural drift is occurring. It’s all a game of semantics; it of course depends on your definition of ‘man’. Do you use the legal definition or do you use the ‘true’ definition? Naturally the answer isn’t that clear cut for a culture which is becoming lost within it’s own mental insanity.
There are two degrees of perceiving, these are ‘content’ and ‘context’. Most people favor content and forget context. This is a great thing to realize, because not only does it clarify how people view the world, but it also highlights how easily we can be manipulated. When we forget the context of an issue and instead only focus on the content…what does that really say about us?
