Dark Dreams

As the energies and vibrations on earth continue to increase, the changes our global culture is going through are starting to become more apparent to people. It seems that no matter where we look at the moment, things are are moving towards a pretty bleak outlook. The economy the world over is suffering mightily, despite the governments constant denials. Earthquakes are hitting all over. Cries of water and food shortages are becoming louder. And the ever looming threat of terrorism (and fascism) is being pushed further into our faces.

There is a certain ‘ambience’ that has emerged over recent months, a feeling as though we are collectively reaching the edge of some large precipice. How long will it be until we topple over that edge?

And it seems these changes are not just limited to the physical world. I don’t normally make reference to this sort of thing, as it is very subjective, but it feels as though there are internal changes occurring with many people. A reconfiguring on a certain deep inner level; almost a ’spiritual’ awakening - but combined with somewhat darker energies. A number of people I know have recently came directly face to face with their Shadow self. For some this has happened in the waking world, for others it has manifested in dark fearful dreams.

I have felt this myself during the in-between twilight world, in those moments before sleep. It’s something which is very difficult to explain, because as I said it is very subjective.

Personally I think we are moving into a time where more and more people are going to start questioning the nature of society, and ultimately even the nature of reality itself. I mentioned at the end of last year that 2008 would be the period which would snap people awake in shock - as the old perceived stability noticeably crumbles. Yet again I have to express I believe that this will be for the positive. Every time humanity has gone through a dark period we have emerged from it far stronger and perhaps somewhat wiser.

To put this in another context, there is a certain acceleration which affects everything in modern times. Everything occurs at a faster pace; communication is faster, change happens more rapidly, ideas and knowledge spread at a pace never before conceived. This perhaps is one of the reasons things are starting to fly apart, as the old junk is getting separated from the shear speed. And by the same token, if we are indeed descending into a global crises, it will most likely be over and done with much faster than any other global crisis in history.

I agree with you that things are changing and that the pace is picking up. This has been going on for some time. I am constantly amazed how accurate Alvin Toffler was in his 1970 book “Future Shock”. The number of choices that we have to make are increasing exponentially.

Metaphysically, I agree with you that more and more people are unable to believe the ideas that they’ve been told to just accept on faith. For many, this leaves them with nothing to hold onto. For others, it opens doors to new, healthier, more sound ideas.

I don’t believe the changes are as negative as they may appear. With tv and radio searching the world to find every bit of negative “news” so that we can know everything bad that happens anywhere in the world, I think people’s perception becomes overly influenced. Usually, if one looks at what they are experiencing in their own life, much more of it is good than bad.

    Just my $.02 worth…

I’ve heard of the book “Future Shock” before, but have yet to read it. I will have to get hold of a copy at some point.

We really do seem to be heading for a strange situation. There are a number of people I know around me, who are waking up to the world and its illusions. Yet because they aren’t really spiritually inclined, they are finding themselves adrift, lost and with no direction.

But then there are also those that are still stuck within that ‘illusion’. I see the world fragmenting into various groups in the not so distant future. Those that want to maintain the illusion and those who want a new paradigm.

It would be interesting indeed to see what would happen if the TV networks went off for a week. Would it change the world?

What if the Internet was shut off? There are millions of people out there now - all spreading metaphysical and spiritual knowledge. And some have years of doing that behind them. If the Internet went, would they simply sit around and do nothing? Or would they get up and start physically spreading these ideas?

It’s funny because technology both enlightens us and traps us.
