Divining reality’s symbolism

The symbolism found within our dreams, in many ways is much the same as the symbols we percieve within the reality of our waking world. Many forms of divination understand this and as such act as a conduit linking the external worlds to the internal worlds. Tarot and astrology are very good examples of this, although quite often these forms of divination are used in a somewhat superficial manner in magazines, newspapers or the traveling carnivals. Stepping away from the media adaptation of these forms and looking a little deeper, it is clear that in many respects it all settles on how we interpret symbolism on a personal level. Dream dictionaries are a wonderful tool for interpreting symbols - not just within dreams, but also within the waking world - especially if the interpretations aren’t taken literally - but instead merged with your own feelings of what the symbols within your dreams / environment mean to you.
On many occasions I have been struck by patterns or shapes in clouds. Sometimes I will see a shape in them that others cannot or don’t. Why is this? I suspect that it is our minds way of interpreting reality in the form of symbols - just as our unconscious mind does during dreams. Next time you see an odd shape in a cloud - take a look in a dream dictionary to see what it has to say about that particular symbol / shape. It quickly becomes clear that our consciousness deals with the waking world in much the same way as it does our dreamscapes. For me this serves as just one of the proving factors which display the truth behind much metaphysical and mystical knowledge.
Talking of clouds there is one other neat trick you can try with them. Have you ever laid in bed at night staring at an object on the ceiling or wall, and seen how it fades from sight? These objects are usually ones that appear indistinct due to the low light. There is often a particular sensation that accompanies these instances. So - a simple trick of the eyes and light? Well - next time you have a reasonably clear sky - with the white fluffy clouds, try the same thing.
Pick a reasonable sized cloud and simply stare at it. Slowly you will find that your eyes focus away from it and the cloud fades into the blue of the sky. But the thing is - the cloud actually physically disappears! Try it out with someone with you and they will also see the cloud disappear. Try it on the larger clouds and you will find you can punch holes through them over a shortish period of time.
Reality is malleable and dynamic - it affects us just as we in turn affect it. Paths of energy exist that tie us into its very matrix. One of the many aspects of understanding symbolism is gaining the ability to perceive these energies.
