Fractal Self

We are everything
All is One
Everything is Illusion
The
Phrases I hear again and again. Sometimes understood, but often spoke in rote; although they contain truth – all such phrases unfortunately have the power to become memes. Michael Talbot wrote that the Universe is a hologram, that each part of the universe contains an entire copy of the whole. We as humans therefore are not just smaller versions of the universe, but a universe unto ourselves. It’s hard to visualise I think – when someone says; “Hey you are everything, everything is illusion!” where can that fit in with our view on reality? Sure it can probably be understood in theory – and even on intellectual terms. But it isn’t really observable.
Taking a trip inside oneself, we discover that we are depthless – that we are infinite – we have no outer edge and no inner edge. Yet we focus on the aspect of our reality that is immediately present in front of us; the piece of life from which we immediately partake. How small is that part of our reality when compared to the vastness of our town, city or country? As we live out our daily dramas, how minute is that compared to the billions of interactions that are occurring every second?
We are a tiny speck upon the planet; which itself is a tiny infinitesimal particle in the vastness of space:
Yet, we are everything. Can that really be so? Reality goes on forever not only in space and time – but also within itself. Realms, universes, dimensions; all embedded within the multiple layers of reality; just as a fractal:
Intuition, premonitions, emphathy, telepathy – is it possible that these forms of perception are available to us because we are similar to fractals? We contain within us everything that exists, just as we are contained within everything that exists. We know when someone is about to phone us because their decisions – their thought pattern unfolds within us, just as we unfold within them. Our life experiences together, create links and tethers, which bind us on levels we can’t always fathom.
Perhaps as we become more sensitive to our reality and to ourselves – we can pick up on all that exists within us, and thus understand all that exists outside of us.

Great thoughts!
Regarding the absence of outer or inner edges, that sound also theoretical or intellectual - as you say. I guess we need to focus on what is near, what is present. Because that is what matters for our lives. From the viewpoint of cosmic economy the tiny little ants that we are looks and maybe is - insignificant. But considering our potential, broadening our horizon is of utmost importance for ourselves. Not for the Universe, but for us.
