Gory Dreams

For a few days running I have had some pretty unusual dreams; as far as I can tell I haven’t got anything going on in the deeper murky areas of my mind - so I suspect it is related to the location I was in during those days. The dreams were excessively violent, not just fighting, punching violence - but real blood and gore violence, far too disturbing to go into any detail here. That said - they certainly weren’t nightmares, as I wasn’t left feeling frightened in any way.
I didn’t appear to be a participant in these dreams, and simply seemed to stand on the sidelines as an observer. The dreams were certainly intense, but not in an overly emotional way - it was more as though I felt etherically compacted and entrenched into a transparent sphere or cube against my will. The surroundings were unclear, distorted as though looking through misshapen glass, everywhere seemed to vibrate in an uncomfortable manner as though I didn’t fit in the dream.
These dreams happened for a few nights in a row, and would occur through-out the night. I never felt as though I got into a true deep sleep state. Now I experienced these dreams whilst staying in Hastings, as soon as I got back the dreams stopped.
I suspect that these dreams had something to do with the energy vibes of the area I was in (if not Hastings itself) - but there was something entirely off about the specific area. And this was either manifesting in my dreams, or else some-part of me was viewing this negative energy an a rather direct manner. Years ago these sorts of dreams would have really bothered me, but over the years I have learnt how to deal with them on both an emotional and energetic level.
A part of me is interested in exploring into what occurred down there, another part of me feels it is all best left alone. I know some of you are sensitive to this sort of phenomena, so I am wondering if you have ever experienced it before in this sort of way?

I have horrific dreams like that all the time. They started when I was in the Fifth grade and haven’t ceased since.
[ Quote ]They are gory, disturbing, grotesque, and demonic.
I know where you are coming from yet no matter where I am, they appear. I noticed it is mainly when I fall asleep with very little, to no light on at all when they appear.
At first I was nervous to have these dreams and scared to fall asleep. But then I started realizing that I needed to fight back and stay alive. I never see me on the sideline watching however, I am always the one they want and subconsciously, I have to fight back.
I’m sorry I may not be much help, but I am doing research on it myself and don’t really know what to look for so I’m stumbling around in the dark. I came across this site actually by searching.
Thank you though, you have helped me to know that I am not the only one who has these dreams.
Hi, yep these sorts of dreams can be pretty intense indeed - and very unpleasant. But as you have realised you’re not alone in this.
Here’s some things that may help:
1) You can try ‘manifesting’ objects into your dream. This can be something that is valuable or important to your on a personal level. Keep the object near you or under your pillow when you go to sleep. Sometimes the nearness of the object allows your sub-conscious mind to bring the it into your dreamworld. This can often help ‘fighting’ of those nasty dreams. I wrote more about this here, Manifestation in Dreams. Although I wrote about ‘dream visitors’ the same principle will also apply to gory dreams. Just draw strength from your charm / talisman, use it as and object of focus.
2) There are many comments from other people here; Dream Visitors. The comments there are worth reading, especially the ones nearer the bottom.
3) Check out the Brainwave Entrainment sections. There are audio files there, which you can download and listen to just before you go to sleep. You will find that they are very good at calming the mind, and they may even influence what sorts of dreams you have.
Hope that helps some…

[ Quote ]all my life i have always had nightmares i use to wake up screaming when i was 3 years old and i don’t know why this has happened to me i am not a violent person never have been but if one of my friends get hurt i lose it but i don’t know i don’t understand most of them are very gory and other i am being raped what do these mean
Hey,
I don;t sleep well generally, and found this site because i couldn’t sleep. My conecren is some of the dreams I have - not nightmares as such because I am usually well aware I am dreaming and if at all only loosely asleep. The visions are of horrific scenes of violence /rape / torture in such graphic detail beyond anything you could watch on tv/dvd.I find it hard to explain, i can’t see that I have any cause or reason to have these visions which feel like they go on for hours and leave me feeling exhausted. Although I see these visions from a victim’s eye view- I never die and normally escape the worst of the gory fate, mainly having to watch others less fortunate who don’t escape. I’ve always had them, day and night dreams - it doesn’t seem normal. I have no idea why my mind has these dark visions.
