Into 2008 and the Growing Divide…

At the start of 2007, I knew it would be a year of growth and development on a personal level. But it also seemed more than probable that 2007 would be a year of shocks for our culture. In the end it turned out to be both of those things. 2007 more than any year in recent decades has highlighted the course of humanity.
At this moment in time there is an exceptional amount of spiritual growth occurring within the world. Many people are waking up to the nature of pseudo-reality, and they are also coming to an ever greater understanding of themselves. You really don’t have to look very far to see this shift in consciousness. It’s apparent in the upspring of thousands of websites, and discussions across hundreds of different blogs and forums. And further, I have noticed that people in the every-day world are becoming more willing to talk about the paranormal and the spiritual. Maybe you have also noticed this with the people around you?
But sadly the opposite is also true; millions are falling deeper into the thrall of materialism, never ending wars and fear. Our planet is also going through a shift – which has been marked by the unprecedented amount of natural disasters this year. The economy is approaching a brick wall at a vast speed. And wars and civil unrest are breaking out all over.
2007 then, marked in very stark terms a growing divide. A polarisation in our culture, environment and reality.
When I look back at this year I hear the words; “In years to come, they will say it all began in 2007.”
A part of me despairs for what is to come. Whilst another part of me acts in denial. However the signs this year have been so overt that even the most dull-witted would have difficulty in not seeing them.
But then my mind always returns back to the other aspect of this great spinning coin; people are awakening, people are gaining spiritual insight, our reality is undergoing a shift for the better. All of the problems we are seeing are growing pangs as all the negativity and darkness is being shaken off. That is why the world needs to go through a few years of darkness, so that the light may become apparent to everyone who is willing to see. The Global Ego and its Shadow are soon going to come out in full force, it is something which is necessary so that we can learn to see the Shadow once and for all, and under such attention it won’t be able to survive for long.
It began in 2007, and many of those elements will hit the collective awareness very hard in 2008. But we can trust in what we have learnt, we can have trust in our spiritual growth – and know that the next few years are the pathway into a bright new world.

Ah Marcus, I know exactly where you are coming from on this. The negative is so overwhelming at times, enough to darken my every thought. But then beauty always finds it’s way back in, and my perspective brightens. Thanks for this encouraging post.
