Manifestation of Thought

I often hear talk about Thought Manifestation, Reality Manifestation and the Power of Positive Thinking. It is everywhere, and not only that – there are now a number of advertisements in the form of documentary-style films – “What the Bleep“, and “The Secret” being among them. So the obvious consideration; is there to be an all out popularisation of the Law of Attraction and Create Your Own Reality? Well it would seem that the films are certainly doing a good job of this. Personally I loved these films on the first viewing. Then upon later consideration, I realised that they are actually bit of a bastardisation of so called Quantum Thought (which in itself has become bastardised term if there was ever one!) A bit like how popular music is a corruption of true music – so-to-speak.
So are we entering an age where occult beliefs are to integrate into the mainstream – only to be worn like a new trend of iPod?
We could call it, iManifestation.
As it becomes ever popular, the message behind thought manifestation – the Law of Attraction – could begin loosing some of its essence. These things are taking on a corporate shine and starting to be driven from a perspective of self-serving, self-fulfilment. Don’t get me wrong – it’s great to have nice stuff…but iManifestation lacks a certain grace of thought. When creating our own reality, should personal material fulfilment be the ultimate result of our faith? As if the term Faith could ever be applied to materialism…
But non of this is what reality creation is truly about, is it? It isn’t so much that there has been a perversion in the ideals, but rather a corruption in the interpretation of the subject. And I suspect that is how it goes – whenever an idea becomes mainstream, it appears to lose much of its essence. And it is this that seems to be the result result when millions of people get their hands upon what could be deemed “Holy Law”. Scripture is yet another area where group interpretation rules over and above any true message.
What is rarely recognised is this; it is what is within us that counts – as was told in the famous words: “The Kingdom of Heaven is Within”.
What is within any of us? It’s a question we should be constantly asking ourselves.
Why is it now that the knowledge of the Law of Attraction has become so widely known; now after so many peoples inner desires have been filled with (tele) visions of hot and sleek lifestyles? What reality are we attracting for ourselves then, and based upon who’s messages are we building the pieces?

“Think Different?”
But then it is true that the message can swing the other way. Should we all be living up in the mountains somewhere, surrounded by goats? I don’t fancy that – and I suspect not many people would. Materialism is fine when in its place.
“Our life’s journey of self-discovery is not a straight-line rise from one level of consciousness to another. Instead, it is a series of steep climbs and flat plateaus, then further climbs. Even though we all approach the journey from different directions, certain of the journey’s characteristics are common to all of us.”
“The person who said money is the root of all evil just flat out didn’t have any.“
The message is getting slimmer – “The Secret” was about 1 hour 30 minutes too long. There is a better place to find the pieces to Manifest our own reality; that place really isn’t all that far away.

marcus,
[ Quote ]I agree on all this being tending to be worn like a new trend. My guess is it will not last for long. Even if you consider how many people have the ability to focus and show perseverance in iManifesting… There is going to be a lot of disappointment. And that will protect these laws from being (more) bastardized.
That is a very valid point. A lot of these trends do indeed disappear with time.
One thought on that though would be that perhaps it depends upon what people are trying to manifest. Becoming millionaires – or a PS3.
Sooner or later if they want a PS3 that badly, it is likely one will manifest into their lives in one way or another. So yeah a part of me certainly sees it unfolding as you suggest…whilst another part wonders how much of it hinges upon the marketing power of the corporations. In the short to mid term at least…
[ Quote ]life is simple.
if there is anything to learn, then it is programming
if there is anything to remember, then it is conditioning
if there is anything to change, then it is resistance
including this
these words are not to be learned, or remembered, or to change anything
if there is any path to be followed, then you are being led astray
truth is basterdized, there is no getting away from that. truth can not be contained, it is truth, it is free, unconditioned, not conditional, therefore any attempt to formulate it, will basterdize it.
beautiful site
[ Quote ]Thanks.
Intent is a funny thing, it comes packaged in so many forms; persuasive, manipulative, caring, aggressive, implied, beauty…
[ Quote ]Just in case anyone is wondering – a few comments have gone. I didn’t delete them, but had some trouble with the site; unfortunately some comments and replies were lost…
[ Quote ][...] have certain pre-conceptions about reality manifestation. A while ago I mentioned the idea of iManifestion. This idea is similar to the “creating our own reality” principle; however, with iManifestion [...]
