Profit, Turbulent Markets and Advertising

Bear MarketThe world markets have been up and down like crazy from what I see. It’s all part of the illusory system of control - the proverbial house of cards - all built upon a Fiat Money system, with too much credit based upon fractional reserve banking. The entire situation with money is a funny thing - because perhaps more than anything else - it is a reflection of our sub-conscious. You can learn a great deal about a person, simply by knowing how they handle money. Likewise, the turbulent economy speaks volumes about our entire culture. It’s all there in writing when you look closely - warts and all!

Profit is the game that society teaches - more so nowadays than ever. Everything is viewed in terms of profit and loss. “Investment” is a common term I hear from people; “That TV was a great investment!” I am not sure if this is just a UK thing; anyone from other countries out there hear this sort of phrase a lot? Heck it’s even common for a company to “Invest in People”, can the reality of it get any clearer than that?
I don’t disagree with the idea of energy exchange, and money can be viewed as a form of energy. That is how life works and that is how nature works, but “profit” seems to be decidedly different to me. Like a squirrel hording all the nuts from the forest - sod who else may want (or even need some). Justification for such hording is always expressed as self evident. The reason for profit is profit. Or so we are led to believe.

It all changed when the royal families of the world outlawed the use of any coins but those with their royal heads stamped upon them. The royal blood began to flow across the entire country as people worked knuckle-to-bone to keep it pumping. That’s a great symbolical image isn’t it?

It’s all different now - paper money isn’t backed by anything but debt. And debt in turn only exists inside of the world banks computers. A strange game indeed.

Somewhere along the lines the distinction between money, economy and debt became blurred into the one catchall euphemism “Profit”. A profit is our cultures blood. Well, in the illusory version of the world at any rate.

Besides all that, we all need to earn money to live. This site has been monetized for a fair while now - much of the advertising has been based on Google AdSense. It does it’s job, and the amount the site earns is certainly proportionate to the amount of visitors. Increasing slowly then.

I worked on this site for quite a few years (and would continue to do so even if the site wasn’t monetized), before I added an income to it. Of course it always comes at an expense; and that is how far is too far? I have tried to keep the ads fairly out of the way and it works fairly well without being too “in your face”. Recently though I have walked a little bit closer to that line with ContentLink based advertising (those double under-lined links). I certainly don’t like the idea of in your face ads. But on the other hand I do believe in energy exchange - x amount of energy into the site = y amount of energy back. So I am hoping the new ads aren’t too much of a problem, they are about as “in-your-face” as I am prepared to get.

Anyway it’s up for trial. And besides the comment form is always available for those that don’t like it (or for that matter just wish to comment in general).
