Seeking the Light

I have been seeking the Light I saw in a vision recently, trying to get back to the place where I saw it - so that I may see it again. The vision of the Light came at a fairly intense time, and it wasn’t just about seeing the Light, but also feeling the experience which it brought with it. There is a place inside of us which is deeply peaceful and profound, and I saw it from across a field whilst standing in the car-park of my mind.

I haven’t found that place again though - and I am taking that as a sign that I am not yet ready for it. That is why previously I was only granted a glimpse rather than a full-blown experience. One thing I have come to understand is that these paths upon which some of us embark have many lessons along them. I started out on my spiritual journey, I think, with certain goals in mind - and now that I think about it, I can no longer remember precisely what those goals were.

At some point my journey became about the journey itself rather than the destination. I have a feeling that is a part of what my visions have been about. Two days ago I saw a large ball of light sitting in a massive hand of some sort of divine being. Many people and entities (some human, others non-human) scrambled around this hand of a god, all trying to stake a claim to this ball of light. To the sides of the field scattered around were other ‘lesser’ balls of light either being held by small beings - or else laying alone on the ground. Mostly people ignored these lesser balls of light for whatever reason.

The large ball of light which held everyones attention was perceived as an object of lust and power, in truth it represented a simple clear an enlightened consciousness of reality. The beings who’s egos caused them to clamber over each other had no chance to claim this light, because they believed it to be the goal of their path. The accumulation of their varied agendas. However the light of this ‘enlightenment’ isn’t meant to be a reward of any ego driven desire.

Sometimes the things we mistakingly perceive as an object to grasp - or the reward to claim - is instead a representation of the journey we are on. There is in fact nothing to take or hold, because the goal is the journey itself. I think that is a simple truth which many of us miss, and it is an understanding that I am constantly trying to integrate into my own life.
