Brainwave Entrainment as a subject, covers a lot of areas. In essence, brain entrainment is about changing the frequency of your brainwaves, to a pre-determined frequency, through the use of special audio. Why would anyone want to do this? Well there are a number of benefits, such as relaxation, visualisation, meditation, dream induction, among other things. The brain naturally works in four basic modes, each set at a different frequency range. These brainwave frequencies are labelled as follows:

Beta – The day-to-day active mind.
Alpha – The relaxed mind state.
Theta – Frequency of the brain whilst dreaming.
Delta - Deep sleep.

Brainwave Entrainment is an ongoing subject on this site; here then, you can find a collection of all the articles (including downloadable audio) on the subject.

Also, be sure to check out the free Online Brainwave Entrainment Center - which is available exclusively at The Thoughts, and contains many free streaming audio files!

You’re welcome! Binaural beats and brainwave entrainment have had a massive effect on my own development, and they can be a very powerful tool.

Make sure you check out the Entrainment Center
which has a decent collection of binaural beats and other audio. I try to keep it updated fairly regularly.
