Thought Manifestation

We can pinpoint a beginning of where our [tag]physical reality[/tag] starts at a place in which we are all familiar – the contents of our own minds. Our immediate reality comprises of all manners of physical objects, environments and structures. Many of these are manmade; computers, cars, buildings, roads, towns, cities - these spread out as an interconnected network across entire countries and continents. It is a vast unity of increasingly smaller and smaller components, each of which may vary greatly one from the other. However they all share one thing in common. They all begin as a [tag]thought[/tag] form within the mind of a human being.
How these thought forms originate may vary – and for the moment I will leave that discussion for a later point. As we give rise to these thoughts – through whatever means – they are eventually, through a number of process given form in physical reality. We imagine an image and paint it onto canvas. We want a means of transport, and thus eventually give creation to a car. Each and every manmade aspect begins within the mind as an ethereal form. A thing without any solid substance that cannot – even through science – be pinpointed.
Now when you take this perception and look with new eyes at the world around us, especially if we are in a large town or city…you may well be amazed to find that almost the entirety of your surroundings are one large mass of manmade construct. You are standing smack bang inside a massive [tag]manifested[/tag] [tag]thought form[/tag], which is almost infinitely complex in its intricacy.
When I began to consider this concept – the idea was almost dazzling in its elusiveness to grasp; thousands if not millions of thoughts all from different minds centring into the desire of creating. And thus through shear will and then physical motivation, giving rise to such complexity that initially only existed as wild imagining.
Then I began to consider on how different people think in different ways. That many people believe they have a unique perception of the world. This being so – I thus wondered – why would this manifested reality be so interconnected rather than totally disjointed?
I considered that perhaps at some point the manifested reality began to influence our entire thought process. That for example after the horse carriage was manifested; it became within people’s minds a true solid reality. Thus something more than a pure thought form. A manifested [tag]reality[/tag] when perceived is then translated by the mind back into a thought form. This whole process has thus become symbiotic. As we take the reality back inside our minds and again alter it, or enhance it with new ideas. And then once again [tag]manifest[/tag] an “enhanced” reality – the car.
Reality creation then is a very strange process. At once utterly simplistic and totally complex; depending – I guess – upon how you manifest your interpretation of it.
A relatively recent creation – though no longer something “new” as many still seem to believe – is the Internet. Now if we apply this same concept of reality [tag]manifestation[/tag] in regards to the Internet, we come across an almost unique situation. One that as far as we know has never occurred within recorded history on such a momentous scale.
The Internet in many respects mirrors the human mind. It is present only within what its “front” shows us – that is text or pictures. Its true content – 1’s and 0’s are almost ethereal in that they have no real solid reality…other than the location on which they are stored. The brain appears to “store” the mind – whilst the brain has a solid reality – the mind appears not to have. Therefore, beyond your computer screen, beyond the text and pictures, the contents of the Internet have no true form.
However once again, these contents are the creation of thought manifestation. Except in this case the thought manifestation is almost immediately transformed back into another form of ethereal reality. Unlike the constructed world around us, the Internet is far more disjointed. One website has no bearing on another…one bit of data has no relationship to another bit of data. Yet it still forms a global whole, a vast network of manifested thoughts and words.
Of course there is a very large difference between the human mind and the Internet. The Internet is a reflection of many millions of [tag]minds[/tag] – but it is no more than that. It is pure data…hard, cold and factual. It functions ultimately upon pure logic and reason based algorithms in order to spew both facts and fiction alike. Although it has a massive ethereal form, it has no awareness or soul. It may well one day contain all the knowledge and intellect of the world, but it is missing that unique spark of life. It has no consciousness.
The philosopher Rudolf Steiner spoke of an Ahrimanic [tag]Awareness[/tag]; a [tag]consciousness[/tag] that can affect, infiltrate and manipulate the human psyche. This awareness is identifiable by its unique traits, of reason based thinking. Cold and intellectual analytical minds with little or no compassion – the aim of this awareness is ultimately to create a global consciousness that is missing the spark of human warmth, love and spirituality. Of course, this awareness exists ultimately as a thought form that pervades within the human mind.
To witness the strength of the current presence of this Ahrimanic Awareness, we need only look out at the thought manifested reality of our present day. The reality to which we give creation directly mirrors our collective thought process; that is our reality is the manifestation of global consciousness.
This isn’t to say that Ahrimanic traits are directly negative; rather it is in the nature of their use where they become negative. It only takes a little bit of introspection and intuitive thinking to perceive where such negativity lays within our society. So I need not elaborate or list such issues. Conversely these aspects; when used in the correct way can lead to a lot of positivity. That said; I don’t intend to focus directly upon any of these aspects here.
I have found this process of thought manifestation with all its intricacies and subtleties extremely interesting. It can be almost overwhelming to consider the chains of thoughts and events that lead to the manifestation of one thought reality, let alone the linkage of the entirety of our manmade world. But to focus on that would – for me at least – be a distraction. Surely a better focus is upon the origins of these thoughts. Yes – our reality is a manifestation of thought; but from where do these thoughts arrive? And if indeed they can be influenced by an external awareness or consciousness; then where does such an entity exist?
Some of the answers can be found within the realms of our 3D physical reality…and further answers are present within the realms of our consciousness. So the journey then is to examine and discover all the potential possibilities – because if so much of our external physical reality is merely manifestation of our internal ethereal reality; than that reality must go so much deeper than consensus reality would believe.
It’s quite a trip.
