Where do Clone’s Souls Come From?

I often wonder where the souls and spirits which inhabit clones actually come from. It’s pretty easy to consider that they maybe ‘soulless’, but something tells me that isn’t the case. All living matter contains a spiritual element, and there is no reason it should be any different for clones.
Could a clone’s soul be a copy from the original, either a perfect duplicate or an imperfect one? If we were to consider the soul energy as coming from the universal consciousness, then what effect does a cloned body have upon that soul energy? Perhaps the new bodies also contain a ‘new’ soul energy; a manmade soul rather than a divine soul.
Whatever and wherever the clones spirit and soul arrives from there are further questions to consider; what occurs after the clone’s death? Does the soul return to the universal collective consciousness? What would it be like to be a reincarnated human, who was previously a clone?
The questions are endless, and the energies which are being played with aren’t even understood in the merest of ways by a conventional science. A science which is still grasping to explain consciousness.
On some level I even wonder if the affect on consciousness is a part of these experiments. Some people who have had their pets cloned remark upon how the new copy has the same personality as the original. What does that say about consciousness? What does it say about the spirit or the soul for that matter?
I suspect there will never be any worthwhile (public) answers to these questions, because it is not of sufficient interest. Yet surely it must play a massive part in the overall equations. Will this ultimately unite science with the spiritual – or forever divide the two? I can see both possibilities as being equally possible, with very little in the way of middle ground.
